Each part is designated by a single digit followed by a title as follows: Part 1: General Provisions Part 2: Earthworks, Subbase, Base and Shoulders Part 3: Bituminous Construction Part 4: Concrete, Steel and Structures Part 5: Ancillary Works Part 6: Testing Each part is divided into Sections designated by the Part number, a decimal point and a sequential number followed by a title. Each section is divided into Subsections. Each Subsection is designated by the Part number, a decimal point, the Section number, a decimal point and a sequential number followed by a title. Each Subsection may have been divided into Clauses designated (a), (b), (c), etc. and each Clause may have been divided into Subclauses designated (i), (ii), (iii), (iv), etc. REFERENCING The Specifications for Pay Items in the Bill of Quantities are prescribed in the respective Section(s) corresponding to the type of Works involved. Specifications and Drawings may contain crossreferences to other Sections, Subsections, Clauses or Subclauses which shall likewise be construed as Specifications for the Item of Work involved. The Specifications is to be applied for the entire AdigratAdwaShire Road Upgrading Project which is divided into two lots. Specifications for work or materials not required in a particular Lot, will be deemed not to apply for that Lot. ACCEPTED Accepted in writing by the Engineer (or by the Employer where appropriate) as meeting the requirements of the Contract Documents and of any authorised variations thereto. “Acceptance” means accepted in writing as aforesaid. “Acceptable” means acceptable to the Engineer as aforesaid. Any acceptance and/or approval of the Engineer or his representatives is given subject to the provisions of SubClause of the Conditions of Contract.
