s remended to select fixed roof tanks or horizontal tanks for acids and alkalis. The spherical tanks or horizontal tanks shall be selected for liquid ammonia store under the normal temperature. Number of tanks The number of feedstock tanks for the units of refineries shall ply with the following provisions: 1. Tanks of crude oil and feedstock When one unit is used for processing one kind of feedstock, 3 ~ 4 tanks should be used. When one unit is used for processing several kinds of feedstock, additional 2 ~ 3 tanks should be provided for every increase of one kind of feedstock to be added in the unit. 6 2. Intermediate feedstock oil tank a. When unit is fed directly or supplied partially by storage tanks, 2 ~ 3 tanks should be provided. When unit is supplied by storage tanks, 3 ~ 4 tanks should be provided. b. For the refining unit, 2 ~ 3 tanks should be provided for every position to be handled separately. d. For the reforming unit, an additional tank may be provided for the prehydrogenation generated oil tank according to the requirements of unit. e. For the lubeoil unit, 2 tanks should be provided for the oil of every kind of positions, and tanks shall be provided separately for oil with same kind of positions but having different carbon residues or different processing depths. 3. The capacity of each tank of crude oil and feedstock oil shall not be less than the daily capacity to be handled by one unit under the normal operation. Number of product oil tanks shall ply with the following provisions: 1. Gasoline tanks and diesel oil tanks a. Two tanks should be provided for each position to be controlled for the product oil characteristics. b. When oils of a brand and grade are produced, the total number of blending tanks and product oil tanks should not be less than 4, and additional 2 ~ 3 tanks may be added for every increase of one brand. 2. Tanks of aviation gasoline and jet fuel a. 2 ~ 3 tanks should be provided for each position. b. The total number of blending tanks and product oil tanks for each brand and grade should not be less than 3. 3. It is remended to provide 3 ~ 4 tanks for the military diesel oil. 4. It is remended to provide 2 tanks for each brand and grade of solvent oil and lamp kerosene. 5. It is remended to provide 2 tanks for each type of product of aromatics. 6. Number of LPG tanks should not be less than 2. 7. Heavy oil tank (fuel oil tank) a. When one brand and grade of product oil, the number of blending tank and product oil tank should not be less than 3, and another 2 tanks may added for every increase in one brand and grade of product oil. b. When the temperature at inlet of tanks is in a range of 120 ~ 200 oC, the separate tanks shall be provided and 1 ~ 2 blow up tanks shall be provided. c. It is remended to provide 2 tanks for the fuel oil of the plant. 8. Storage tanks of lubeoils, oils for electrical appliances and hydraulic oils a. It is remended to provide 2 tanks for each position, and the separate tank shall be provided for oil with the same kind of positions but having different carbon residues or different processing depth. b. It is remended to provide 1 ~ 2 tanks for each brand of product oil, and the product oil tank is also used as the blending tank. c. Blending and product tanks of Grade 1 oil shall be used dedicatedly according to brand and grades. The 7 blending and product tanks of Grade 2 and Grade 3 may used alternatively provided that the quality is not affected. 9. Asphalt tanks should not be less than 2. Number of effluent oil shall ply with the following provisions: 1. It is remended to provide 2 tanks respectively for the effluent light oil and the effluent heavy oil. 2. It is remended to provide 1 ~ 2 tanks for catalyzed and cracked oil slurry. Number of the storage tanks for petrochemical media shall ply with the following provisions: 1. Liquid hydrocarbon tanks a. Ethylene tanks should not be less than 2. b. Propylene tanks should not be less than 2. c. It is remended to provide 2 tanks for each kind of medium of C4 and C5 hydrocarbon. 2. It is remended to provide 2 tanks for each medium of aromatics. 3. It is remended to provide 1 ~ 2 tanks for each medium of alcohols, aldehydes, esters, ketones, nitriles and the other media with the similar characteristics. The number of storage tanks provided for acids, alkalis and liquid ammonia should not be less than 2 for each kind of medium. 3. Accessories and Instruments of Storage Tanks Accessories of storage tanks Floating roof tanks and inner floating roof tanks shall be provided with oil dip holes, manholes, blowdown holes (or cleaning holes) and drain nozzle. It is remended to provide the bottom samplers and the number shall be defined according Table . The fixed roof tank shall be provided with vent tube (or breather valve), oil dip hole, loophole, manhole, blowdown hole (or cleaning hole), drain nozzle and bottom sampler. The principle for arrangement and numbers of the parts shall ply with the following provisions: 1. Vent tube or breather valve a. When the flashing point (closed flashing point) is above 60 oC, vent tube should be used. b. When the flashing point (closed flashing point) is  60 oC, it is remend。
